THK Jain College celebrating 75 years of Indian Independence


On the occasion of celebration of 75 years of Indian Independence, a Solo Lecture Session was organized by the Department of History in association with Womens Cell of our College on the 26th of January 2022. The title of the Lecture was "The Indian Constitution and Women Empowerment". Our invited guest speaker, Dr.Aparna Bandhopadhyay, Associate Professor, Department of History, Diamond Harbour Women's University, Sarisha, S 24 Parganas, West Bengal, delivered an efficacious lecture on Google Meet. The faculty member, staff from various departments of our college and students took part in the program, thereby making the event a grand success.

The Department of English organized a webinar on the topic "Evolution of Indian Literature & Culture in the Last 75 Years", on 23rd November, 2021. The speaker was Prof. (Dr.) Subir Kumar Dhar, Mentor & Advisor, Dept. of English & Director, School of International Languages, Sister Nivedita University. Prof Dhar delivered a profound speech on the history, evolution and culture of Indian Literature during the last 75 years of Independence in the country. The session was held on Google Meet platform and was a wonderful and effective webinar which helped the students learn about many unheard facts of the Indian Literature and its growth over the decades. E-certificates were generated to the participants at the end of the session.

The Department of Commerce and Department of Economics jointly organized webinar on the topic "Post-Independence transition of Indian Economy: An Introspection, on 30th September, 2021". An introductory speech was given by Dr. Dhruba Ranjan Dandapat, Professor, Dept. of Commerce, University of Calcutta followed by a special lecture of Dr. Anjan Chakraborty, Professor, Dept. of Economics, University of Calcutta. The sessions were very interactive and good learning experience for all the participants

 


2016

Independence 70

To celebrate the 70th Anniversary of Indian Independence and 75th Anniversary of "Quit India" movement, the college has organized a special quiz event "Independence 70", on "Indian Movement for Freedom" as a tribute to the freedom fighters whose fearless struggle, unconditional sacrifice and martyrdom enabled India to emerge as a sovereign and independent nation as per the instruction of MHRD. The programme was organized by the Cultural and Co Curricular Committee.
