The library of Tara Devi Harakh Chand Kankaria Jain College started its journey 17 years back with a collection of 600 books. The Central Library is presently located on the 2nd floor of the newly constructed G+4 storeyed College building. Over the years, the collection of the library has grown and at present the library boasts a collection of over 10,000 books, journals and magazines on various subjects. The library is equipped with up-to-date computers, internet facility and Wi-Fi. Of various new initiatives that have been adopted, the application of modern library management software needs mention. Keeping in mind that most of the library visitors are young college students, 24 x 7 Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) has been made available. Besides that, book lending service, photocopying (Xerograph) service and internet facilities are also available.
The vision of the Central Library of the College is to support the institution and its stakeholders by providing seamless access to the widest possible spectrum of information resources such as digital, online databases, print and non-print materials relevant to the curricular, as well as informational and innovative research needs of the academic community. It aims to provide Right Information to the Right Users at the Right Time and in the Right Format.
The mission is to provide college students with the information they need to achieve their highest academic potential and to help them acquire the research skills necessary for lifelong learning, to support teaching faculty and administrative staff and to participate in 'interactive information exchange' within the wider educational community.
