Program Offered:
4 years B.Sc. Hons & Hons with Research in Zoology.
The college introduced B.Sc. Honours and Genl. programme in Zoology in the year 2016 considering the contemporary relevance of the subject, immense scope of research and wide career opportunities in the field of animal biology.
Facilities:
- Spacious Zoology and Biochemistry Laboratory with all modern facilities.
- The department has a repository of well labeled vertebrate and invertebrate specimens, Protozoan slides, histological tissue sections, insects, skulls and bones.

Signature of MoU
A Memorendum of Understanding was signed between the Department of Zoology of THK Jain College and the Department of Zoology of City College on the 19th of July, 2023 from 12:30P.M. at the City College of Kolkata for the interest of the students. View MoU | View Report
Activities:
- Department emphasizes on hands on training and field work along with theoritical studies. For the said purpose Department has organised excursion in Kanha National Park, Madhya Pradesh, Kaziranga National Park, Assam, Chintamani Kar Bird Sanctuary, Alipore Zoological Garden, Indian Museum etc.
- Department observe various important Days, like Earth Day, World Environment Day, World Wild Life Day, Endangered Species Day, National Science Day etc.
- Department organises various events for students like poster presentation, student seminars, quiz competitions, exhibition and other activities.
- Department also provides various invited lecture sessions for students.
- Students are encouraged to do volunteer works and join NSS unit.
Achievements:
- Students pursuing M.Sc in Ballygunge Science College, University of Calcutta.
- Rahul Sahal (Passed out 2020 Batch) is pursuing Integrated PhD program in IISC, Bangalore after cracking JAM exam.
- Arunita Dutta Gupta (Pass out - 2019) is working in INFOSYS as operation executive after getting job placement from our college Campus drive
- Gunjan Mukim (Passed out-2019) qualified CSIR-NET
