The Department of Film Studies offers 3 years B.A. General Course in Film Studies under the University of Calcutta. Being guided by erudite faculty members who have experience of Film Making, the department extensively emphasizes on providing hands on training in different aspects of Film Making such as cinematography, video editing, sound production and preparation of fiction and non-fiction films.

The department is well equipped with an IMac video editing lab, latest version of Film and DSLR cameras and sound recording instruments.The department organizes excursion tours, workshops and seminars in every academic session to impart knowledge effectively being mentored by industry professionals.
